This is quite a long story starting in 2007 when we went out to Zanzibar, with Christian Engineers in Development, to inspect the Cathedral. Following which we wrote a report and carried out designs and drawings to form the basis of an application for funding. Fund raising proved challenging until Fr Jerry Kramer, the then "vicar general", put us in touch with World Monuments Fund who made a successful application to the EU for a grant to carry out repairs and other work including the development of an exhibition on the theme of slavery. ADAC-structure's part in the project was to stabilize the roof structure which was in danger of collapse due to roof spread.
