The National Nature Reserve Scotland commissioned Aaron Lawton, of PlaceMatters, to design signage for numerous sites across Scotland, varying from benign inland sites in Central Scotland, to exposed sites on the Western Isles. A semi standardised design was required that was to be a balance of economy and simplicity. A system was developed that enabled each area to be identified as one of a number of severity categories, then a suitable support structure selected from a limited pallet. These have yet to be erected.
