Carrie Bridge in the Black Wood of Rannoch

Carrie Bridge is a thing of beauty, spanning a delightful burn in a rock gorge in the Black Wood of Rannoch in Perthshire. With the materials sourced by the constructor, Strong Bridges, from the surrounding forest it is also of excellent environmental credentials.
This project required the assessment of locally sourced materials and the development of unusual details as the deck is suspended from the "A-frame" structure above, which in turn is restrained from spreading by steel cables under the deck.

The completed bridge.
